The Cheese Making Process Can Result In
Different Kinds of Cheese
Isn’t it considered wonderful
that you can totally turn one thing into a totally different
thing such as milk into cheese?
The cheese making process is
actually a science called biotechnology even before
biotechnology is called as such. However, before you get to be
really excited about it. Just remember that each cheese must go
through different conditions to make it ripen or mature. It is
actually what makes the cheese making process exciting because
every opportunity that you get might result into a different
kind of cheese. There are limitless possibilities when it comes
to different kinds of cheese.
The cheese making process
begins when you move the milk into the cheese vat. You heat it
until it reaches its maximum temperature. When you reach its
maximum temperature, you add the cultures. The cultures make
the curd firm. The curd is then cut into smaller pieces, then
you let it rust until it reaches its pH level so it will be
able to unmold. Upon its unmolding state, you can now hand salt
it or dip it into brine. This forms the rind which prepares it
for the next stage which is the affinage process. It is a
process that ages the cheese. During this stage, you can change
its conditions every time. You can brush it, pat it, wash it or
clean it (whatever you want). This last process can make each
cheese unique because of the effect each condition has on it
which results into a different kind of cheese every
time.
